1. Do I need a third party software firewall if my computer is running Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista?

Even though Windows XP SP2 has a built-in firewall, this software firewall only protects against unwanted incoming traffic. Third party software firewall such as AVG Plus Firewall Edition or Lavasoft Personal Firewall protects against both incoming and outgoing traffic. Any malicious program running on your PC can potentially send out confidential data using legitimate outgoing traffic such as e-mail or web and not be blocked by Windows XP SP2 built-in firewall. Also, your computer can be used as zombie to perform denial of service attacks on websites (outgoing traffic) if not protected by third party software firewall.

For Windows Vista users, third party software firewall is easier to manage and configure than the built-in firewall.

8. Is it better to buy integrated security suite product solution?

The answer is no. When choosing IT security products, a best of breed approach is better than one for all, integrated security suite product solution since any vulnerabilities that affect a product will most likely affect the whole integrated product suite. Also, a single vendor may be an expert in only antivirus or antispyware solution but not both solutions.

If you purchase the software from us, you can still get support from a single vendor of certified professionals. This will eliminate multiple queries to different vendors.

9. Do I need to buy antivirus software for PDAs - Palm/Pocket PC?

The answer is no. If you visit the websites of antivirus vendors who develop antivirus software for PDAs, either there is no updated version for their antivirus software and virus signature on PDAs or those with virus signature updates do not reveal the viruses detected on PDAs. Currently, there are not many viruses found on PDAs. But if you are concerned, you can still install any free version of antivirus software for PDAs.
